On my way home from the gym I was amazed to find that we’ve got a mention in today’s London Evening Standard (page 10, “Election Whispers”).

For a website that was only registered on Monday lunchtime to make it into the printed press by Wednesday afternoon makes me a happy geek. And it’s all down to you lot showing your support here, on Facebook, on Twitter and elsewhere on the web. 10^23 thank yous!
Much as I’m grateful to the Standard for giving us all of half an inch of publicity, I’d like to take them to task over calling this a “youth following”. The very first message of support I received for the site was from a retired further education teacher which read:
I’m an aged Silver Surfer who wishes your new group every success
And the irrepressible Professor David Colqhoun of Improbable Science is following us on Twitter.
Indeed many of those who could suffer most from Labour and Conservative plans to try and direct as much of research as possible towards enterprise-orientated ventures will be end-of-career researchers in basic science fields.
